A Day in Paris
Today, like all the other days of the trip was very busy for us, with one difference, we woke up in Paris. Kat, Madi, Frankie and I all shared a four-person room, the room itself was odd, there were two full-size beds but they were so close together it was pretty much a giant bed. We woke up at 8 and all got ready in the tiny room, and then walked across the street for breakfast. We ate at the Paris Nord CafĂ©. We all ordered the same thing because it was a good-sized breakfast for the price. The breakfast included a croissant, bread with butter on it, jelly, coffee (or tea for Madi), orange juice, eggs and bacon for about €15.
After that, we went to the RER station and went on an adventure. First, we got on the correct train, after we found it, but then we got off at the wrong stop. This caused a lot of confusion and annoyance. We finally found out what to do, get on a metro, get to the correct stop and finally, we’re on the correct RER for The Palace of Versailles. We were on it for about 15 stops before we got there. Our scheduled time was 11:30, we ended up getting there at 11:53. Thankfully we were able to jump to the end of the 11:30 line and make it in! The palace was amazing, there were so many rooms with immaculate detail. The rooms had very intricate patterns with a lot of matching furniture. After touring one floor we had a bathroom break and a photo shoot. A guy then asked me to take a picture for him and he said I was very pretty (☺️). We continued to the other side of the palace where Marie Antoinette’s bedroom was, which was amazing.
After the palace, we watched an equestrian show. I have never seen one before, so I’m glad I got the experience, but I don’t think I would do it again. The horses galloped around and then women rode the horses and were acting out scenes. My favorite part was when they just let the horses loose in the arena. The horses just ran and rolled around doing their own thing, it was like an interpretive dance. After the show we got to tour the stables with the horses in them, they were so cute! We headed back to the Nord Train Station to meet up with Rachel and Becca. We had no problems taking the trains this time thankfully! We all got back together and decided food was a great idea before the train ride back to London. Madi, Rachel, Frankie and I got Subway, while Kat and Becca got Burger King. We went back inside of the train station, went through security and waited about an hour for the train.
